Jeff Daube, co-chair of the Legal Grounds Campaign, has flown to the U.S. for a visit that will include sharing with members of Congress a number of proposals, written specifically to their attention by members of the Knesset.
The proposals offer a range of alternatives to the “two-state solution.” For this, our first round, Legal Grounds has arranged for submissions from MKs Yehudah Glick (Likud), Yoav Kisch (Likud), Shuli Mualem-Refaeli (Habayit Hayehudi), and Miki Zohar (Likud).
As the possibility of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is again being explored by the U.S. administration, facilitating the discussion on “alternatives” becomes increasingly important. Legal Grounds is uniquely positioned to play a significant role in promoting this process.
At this point, Legal Grounds has two goals. First, to make U.S. decision-makers aware of the fact that viable alternatives to the “two-state” paradigm even exist. And then, to apprise them of the existence of members of Israel’s Knesset who are thinking seriously about the possibilities.
Legal Grounds hopes this will be the first of many steps in an extended and fruitful cross-continental dialogue.
